The sailboats that start at the start point will be passed a total of six times (We are limited to 7 slow sailboats and or trawlers) and five fast (20+ knot) Powerboats.
1. Lead sailboat starts at 1216 one every two minutes fully lined up by 1230 (three plane passes 1230 to 1245)
2. Lead powerboats starts 1246 one every minute, fully lined up up by 1253 (plane makes one pass 1253 to 1301) boats are expected to speedup as plane arrives and slow down again when close to next boat.
3. Lead sailboat changes course at 1250 the rest change every two minutes so that all will be lined up again by 1304 (three plane passes 1304 to 1321)
4. Lead powerboat starts back at 1319 the rest turning about every minute so they will all be in one straight line by 1326 (plane makes one pass 1326 to 1334)
0.2 nm separation equals eight boats in 1.4 nm. for 6 knot sailboats this is a two minute separation between sailboats.
A plane going 1.0 nm per minute (60 knots) will pass the eight boats in 90 seconds 11 seconds per boat. In a fifteen minute cycle the plane will probably make three passes over the seven boats.
(all in the same direction)
