What is the United States Power Squadron?

Organized in 1914, United States Power Squadron ® is a non-profit, educational organization dedicated to making boating safer and more enjoyable by teaching classes in seamanship, navigation and related subjects. Our members are boating families who contribute to their communities by promoting safe boating through education. United States Power Squadron ® has some 40,000 members organized into 450 squadrons across the country and in some US territories. United States Power Squadron ® is America's largest non-profit boating organization and has been honored by three US presidents for its civic contributions.

The Patuxent River Sail and Power Squadron (PRSPS) is a unit of the United States Power Squadrons, District 5 located in Lexington Park, MD home of the Patuxent River NAS. PRSPS is one of 38 Squadrons in District 5 serving the Southern Maryland counties of Charles, St. Mary's and Calvert. Patuxent River Sail and Power Squadron is a boating social/educational organization dedicated to providing year round boating education classes as well as water and land based social activities enjoyed by all our members.
