Amateur Radio plays and important part in personal communications, both afloat and on-shore. The USPS Squadron Activities Committee maintains an online Directory of some 400+ USPS and CPS amateur radio operators. The Committee also sponsors the activities of the USPS-CPS Amateur Radio Nets and the USPS Amateur Radio Club.

Question: What
is the USPS Amateur Radio Club?
Answer: The USPS Amateur Radio Club
(USPS-ARC) is a group of individuals interested in promoting amateur
radio in the marine environment. Regular membership is open to USPS
amateur radio operators. Associate membership open to members in good
standing of the USPS and Canadian Power and Sail Squadron Honorary
membership is conferred upon any person not a member of USPS who has
rendered conspicuous service in the interest of the Club.
The purpose of USPS Amateur Radio Club is to promote the capabilities of Amateur Radio for the recreational boater and support the relationships between the United States Power Squadrons® (USPS) and the American Radio Relay League (ARRL). It is responsible for the planning and operation of special event stations.

Answer: The USPS meets at the location and during the occasion of each USPS Governing Board meeting. .
Question: How do I become a member of USPS-ARC?
Answer: Membership is by application and may be submitted by contacting any of the club officers.

How do I register or change my directory listing?
Answer: The preferred method is to use the online form. This form may be accessed at: www.usps.org/national/Ham/hamform.html. It is linked to from both the public and member only Amateur Radio websites and at the bottom of this page as well. As an alternative, the form can be printed, filled in by hand, and mailed to the database manager listed on the form.
The form provides three options for registration, add, change, or delete. Please select the correct option before submittal. If any of the Amateur personal information changes, such as a change of address, please use the form to submit the change to the directory.

How do I know that my registration has been received?
Answer: The registration forms are
sent to the database manager who will check it for completeness. When
the information from the form has been entered into the database and
the online websites have been updated the database manager will send
a return email to acknowledge the fact that the changes have been
made.

Is the Amateur Radio Directory a USPS-CPS private or public document?
Answer: The Amateur Radio Directory
is considered a private document. It is not available to anyone outside
the memberships of USPS or CPS. This privacy is protected by the certificate
number and zip code login requirement to gain access to the directory.

Is the personal information shared outside USPS-CPS?
Answer The USPS-CPS Amateur Radio
Directory is only available to USPS and CPS active members and is
not shared with any other organization or party.
