America's Boating Club®

America's Boating Club Central Wisconsin

District 10

Welcome to Central Wisconsin Sail & Power Squadron. This is where recreational boaters come to learn more about boating, engage with fellow boaters and have fun with our boating community.

Our Squadron is part of the United States Power Squadrons, a boating organization dedicated to helping people enjoy boating activities safely. Our membership includes all types of boaters and boating families (power, sail, and paddlers), novices and experienced boaters alike. You do not need a boat to join; just have a keen interest in boating-related activities and an eagerness to meet others who do, too. We are a non-profit, 501 (c) 3, corporation.

We have many enjoyable on-the-water and land-based activities, including boating activities, social events, learning opportunities, and other get-togethers. Many boating activities are held on nearby waters, such as Lake Wausau, the Stevens Point flowage and the Wolf River from Fremont to Winneconne. We have had kayak and canoe paddling events on various stretches of the Wisconsin River and the Big Eau Pleine River near the Mead Wildlife area. We have joined our Wisconsin/Minnesota District 10 friends for on-the-water events on the Fox River Lock system, the Mississippi River and the Duluth and Sturgeon Bay harbors. Our social events include monthly breakfasts, pot luck suppers and dinner meetings at local restaurants. Check out our Squadron Newsletter Between the Lines and our calendar of upcoming events to see what is currently going on.

We provide many quality and affordable classroom courses and seminars led by skilled and experienced volunteer instructors. We cover a full range of topics from basic boating to advanced education including, boat handling and operation, boat systems and maintenance, GPS-based navigation and finally sextant-based celestial navigation. Our Boat Operation Certification program includes on-the-water skill instructions. We also offer on-the-water supervised practice called Jump Start to help the boating community gain more confidence in their boating skills. Our classes are open to members and non-members alike. Visit our Courses and Seminars pages to find out more about our programs.

We enjoy being part of our local community and give back through our service activities. We are active community volunteers and help to make the water a better place for everyone to enjoy.

We conduct annual free Vessel Safety Check events at BSA Camp Tesomas, Lake Du Bay, Shawano Lake and Lake Petenwell with our crew of USCG-certified vessel examiners. If you would like to give back, consider participating as an instructor, boat examiner, or community service volunteer. More information about our service activities can be found on the Civic Service page.

Thanks for visiting us. We hope to see you soon!
