The United States Power Squadrons has created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy. The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for all USPS web sites whether at the National, District, or Squadron level, regardless of where they are located on the Internet.

Information on entering the site

We compile information on the IP addresses that contact us so we can improve the services provided by our site, but will not provide the information to others. We use cookies to save your member access authorization (for a limited time, on our internal web pages) so you do not have to re-enter it each time you visit our site. We also use cookies to maintain privacy of our internal web pages.

Site registration - internal web pages

The registration form of our site requires users to give us their membership number. We use this information to maintain the privacy of our Site. Prospective users may choose to withhold this information, but will be denied access if they do.

Order forms

Our site uses an order form for customers to request information, products, and services. We collect visitor's contact information (like their e-mail address), unique identifiers (like their USPS certificate number), and financial information (like their account or credit card numbers). Contact information from the order form is used to send orders to our customers. The customer's contact information is used to get in touch with the visitor when necessary.

We do not maintain a listing of this information after the initial information is sent. Financial information that is collected is used to check the users' qualifications and bill the user for products and services. Unique identifiers (such as USPS certificate numbers) are collected from web site visitors to verify the user's identity and for use as account numbers in our record system.

Our online surveys ask visitors for contact information (like their e-mail address). The customer's contact information is used to contact the visitor when necessary.

Opt-Out

Whenever our site asks a visitor to provide information, we will provide users the opportunity to opt-out of receiving communications from us and our partners.

All USPS-only mailing lists permit users to remove themselves. Send e-mail to majordomo@usps.org with the words unsubscribe and the name of the mailing list in the body of the message. This will unsubscribe you.

Users may confirm list membership by sending e-mail to majordomo@usps.org with the word which in the body of the message. An e-mail will be sent back to the sender, listing all the mailing lists carrying the sending address. Then another e-mail can be sent with the words unsubscribe listname. This will unsubscribe you.

Delete/Deactivate

This site gives users the following options for removing their information from our database, and not receive future communications, or to no longer receive our service.
