How to Determine the Architecture of Your Windows Computer
For Vista and Windows 7, you can get the information you need by going to the Start button/menu (lower left hand corner of the screen) and selecting:
- Control Panel, then double clicking
- System and Security,
then double clicking
- System
- In the window that opens, look under the System area, and then look at the System Type to find the 32/64 bit architecture of your Windows system.
For Windows XP, go to the Start button/menu (lower left hand corner of the screen) and select:
- Control Panel, then double click
- System,
then click
- the General tab in the System Properties window that opens. If there is NO mention of 64 bit Windows XP, then your system is 32 bit Windows XP. The majority of XP systems are 32 bit.
You will find all the information you need to answer the 32/64 bit question on the N09 Software Help Form.
