Boating
Hints They Don't
|
PFDs (Personal Floatation Device) - U.S. Coast Guard statistics show that more than 80% of the people who die in boating accidents aren't wearing their life jackets. Thousands of boaters, the fatal victims of sudden, unexpected boating accidents, might be alive today if they had worn their life jackets. In emergencies afloat, your swimming ability may have little or nothing to do with your chances of survival. But your ability to stay afloat can mean the difference between life and death.
A life jacket (often called a PFD
or Personal Flotation Device) will help keep you afloat until you are rescued and can help protect you from the
fatal effects of cold. |
