The United States Power Squadrons® is the world's largest recreational boating organization with about 20,000 members. For more than 110years, we have worked to make the water a safer place through boating education, civic service and fellowship. With the United States Power Squadrons®, you can improve your boating skills and knowledge online, in the classroom with certified instructors, or outdoors with hands-on training. By joining America's premier boating organization, you can have fun with other boaters on the water and on land!
Coos Bay Power Squadron, located on Coos Bay on the South Oregon Coast is a unit of District 32 of United States Power Squadrons®. An organization of men and women bonded together in the interest of Safe Boating through Education.
Coos Bay Power Squadron was chartered in 1959, and since then our members have taught boating skills and safety to hundreds of fledgling and long time boaters. Many have joined the Squadron and improved their personal boating skills by taking the courses offered to members through United States Power Squadrons®. These courses are taught by qualified members who volunteer their time, knowledge and energy to provide the best possible education program from Basic Boating to Celestial and Electronic Navigation.
The Squadron has public basic boating safety courses each year and members take classes in advanced nautical knowledge, Boat Handling, Marine Navigation, Advanced Marine Navigation, Offshore Navigation and Celestial Navigation, Marine Electronics, Weather, Engine Maintenance, Sail, Cruise Planning and Instructor Qualification.
There are also many two to three hour Seminars covering many marine topics.
THESE ADVANCED COURSES AND SEMINARS ARE NOW AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC.

Becoming a member requires making application to Coos Bay Power Squadron, meeting the factual requirements of United States Power Squadrons® and CBPS, being sponsored by a squadron member and being willing and able to contribute energy and skills to United States Power Squadrons ® and Coos Bay Squadron. In addition to the Nautical Educational opportunities and insurance savings offered by Power Squadron there are many other BENEFITS available to members.

America's Boating Course® an eight or twelve hour boating safety course is NASBLA* approved and the course meets Oregon's requirements for manditory boater safety education certification. Oregon's boater safety education rules are available on request by calling
