Lake Pleasant2012 Soak and Sweat Tempered by Threatened Bad Weather
Story and photos by Joe Warren
This year’s Soak and Sweat had a six- boat turn out. One sailboat and five powerboats rafted to celebrate on July 14.
Bad weather threatened but never materialized at Deer Cove on Lake Pleasant. The boats rafting-up included Oasis, Time Out, Saguaro Breeze, C Dreams, Busy Livin’ and Barb and Chuck Davis’ boat.
Those in attendance included Jackie Wanta, Lynne Lovell and Bonzo, Terry Gray, Mike Pavsek, family and friends. Barb and Chuck Davis, Joe Warren and Rob Anderson (early departure) and Bill and Connie Johnson (late arrival).
Those in attendance enjoyed and shared snacks and drinks and camaraderie as usual and less than normal temps and refreshing cool water.
Saguaro Breeze left about 3 pm because of potential thunder storms and six NWS severe weather alerts sent to smart phones in Maricopa County cellphone service area (sort of like a reverse 911 call.)
A fun time was had by all even with a low attendance.
