There are three (3) requirements for membership in the Missouri Ozarks Power Squadron:
1. Completion of our Public Boating Course or BoatSmart course (or equivalent *).
2. Active members must be 16 years of age or older
(there is no age requirement for family members).
3. Payment of annual National, District and local squadron dues.
As a condition of joining the Missouri Ozarks Power Squadron, a new member also takes the "United States Power Squadrons ® Pledge" to uphold the Constitution and By-Laws of the United States, District 30 and Missouri Ozarks Power Squadrons, to operate his/her boat legally and to cooperate fully with members and agencies of the United States Government charged with enforcing nautical legislation.
* The state of Missouri does not offer an equivalency that meets our educational requirement. However, the following equivalencies will be accepted as meeting the educational prerequisite for membership: Graduation from the Naval Academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, the Merchant Marine Academy (Deck Officer License); Holders of the U.S. Coast Guard 6 Pak Licenses and above, completion of either the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Boating Skills & Seamanship or Sailing & Seamanship courses; or completion of the American Sailing Association Basic Keelboat Sailing Course (Proctored Exam Only).
