To promote recreational boating safety though education and civic
activities while providing fellowship for our members
Who We Are
Founded in 1960, the Charles River Sail and Power Squadron is a unit
of the United States Power Squadrons®. USPS is now America's Boating
Club, the largest, non-profit,
volunteer, educational, boating safety organization in the world.
Where We Are
Our Squadron serves the Boston area and towns to the Northwest of
Boston, Massachusetts. We regularly meet and teach in the town of Lexington
and invite participation from residents of all surrounding towns.(See
map
of squadron locations in USPS District 34.)
What We Do
• Boating Education - We provide boating courses and seminars to the
public, and advanced and elective courses to members.
• Fun Social Activities - Monthly events are planned including cookouts,
dinners with speakers, a holiday party.
• Community Service - Members provide free Vessel Safety Checks for
area boaters. And through the cooperative charting program, USPS
members help keep nautical charts up-to-date.
