2010 Essex River Cruise

Squadron members and friends enjoyed a cruise on the Essex River on Thursday, 15 July 2010. A large pontoon boat was chartered for the occasion and we boarded at about 1730 for a relaxing evening on the river. The weather was perfect and the points of interest shown to us by the skipper were fabulous.

As we neared the mouth of the river, the skipper showed us how the coastline had changed due to some unusally powerful storms in February this year, which just reinforced the need to keep our charts up to date.

On our return to the dock, members and friends dispersed to various restaurants in the area, all of which specialized in seafood, and had some most enjoyable feasts.
